30x30 Fundraising
What is the meaning of the name 30x30 Fundraising?
30x30 Fundraising is a non-profit 501(c)(3) that funds up to thirty campaigns for thirty days to raise community funds for K9 units, first responders, or emergency community needs.
(30 days x 30 campaigns to Fundraise = 30x30 Fundraising)
Pronounced: "Thirty-By-Thirty Fundraising."
What is your experience in Fundraising?
We started as Keeping K-9s in Kevlar, a wing of the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office Support Foundation, in 2015 to provide K9 Storm vests for K9 Units in need. We became among the top three nonprofits worldwide doing business with K9 Storm, channeling 100% of donations to K9 units. After nine years, we saw the need for a second nonprofit, leading to the formation of "30x30 Fundraising" to address broader first responder needs. 30x30 Fundraising operates with the same committed team and additional specialists. Keeping K-9s in Kevlar remains under WCSOSF and runs itself, allowing us to focus on 30x30 Fundraising.
What Salaries and Expenses do you pay?
We pay a bookkeeper from Summit Bookkeeping and an accountant from Larson Gross. We contract out with our Fly Girl (who specializes in arranging flights and hotels for course K9 unit instructors and law enforcement enrichment conferences) to ensure that all transparency is error-free with specialists in their field. We also pay for website hosting.
The board, fundraising team, and the CEO are not paid employees.
How much of my donation directly supports the cause?
We have three categories of donations:
-
Donations for Emergency Crises:100% of donations to go to the cause with 100% Fee-Free donations. 30x30 Fundraising has old-school values and operates without profiting from community crises or emergencies involving first responders.
-
Donations for Nonprofit Umbrella Progam: 95-100% of your donation goes to the Umbrella Nonprofit Donations, with up to 5% of fees going to paying for the bookkeeper, accountant, and website hosting, which saves the umbrella nonprofit hundreds to thousands of dollars, for using our services. Donations are 100% Fee-Free through Zeffy.
-
Donations forPolice and Sheriff K9 Unit Campaigns: 95-100% of donations go to the cause, with up to 5% of fees going to paying for the bookkeeper, accountant, and website hosting depending on the discounts we can receive for items purchased with 100% Fee-Free donations.
What are the benefits for donating to K9 Units with 30x30 Fundraising?
-
Every purchase made by 30x30 Fundraising adds air miles to fly course instructors or K9 handlers for continuing education or conferences, reducing travel expenses.
-
Surplus funds for each campaign will go to other K9s in need unless the handlers request funds to purchase other items for their K9 unit.
-
Donations are 100% fee-free and tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
-
Undecided Surplus funds are compiled into a grant for K9 units.
-
K9 Units require constant training and education to keep the handler and K9s' skills sharp. K9 units using 30x30 Fundraising can save their budgeted funds for annual expected costs and receive bonus items and training through our nonprofit. Your donation provides all the bonus training or items K9 handlers request without using the funds allocated from a budget.
What are the benefits for donating to Emergency Responding Needs with 30x30 Fundraising?
-
30x30 Fundraising works with one first responder appointed by the person in charge on the ground each day during an emergency to allocate funds to needs in real time. Funds are instantly used as they come in to fit the needs.
-
All donations are 100% fee-free and go to emergency needs. We are old school and will not profit from emergencies or crisis events.
-
Each purchase via our credit card will contribute to air miles for first responders and training course instructors.
-
Surplus funds for the emergency will be decided upon by the first responders on the ground, benefiting the people, animals, and environment where the emergency occurs.
-
All purchases are transparent, so you can see where your funds go.
I'm a K9 Handler, and have questions.
-
Our department can't have online fundraisers. No problem. We offer our discounts to K9 units to save you money. You could pay more, but why? There is no cost to you for using our discount programs. The goal is to save your department funds for training costs. We can save your unit hundreds to thousands of dollars a year. We are IRS-approved to assist Federal and Military K9s and are on the list for border patrol K9s to use our services.
-
Our department needs an online fundraiser. Great! We'll do all the work, and your PIO will share one social media post we create. There is no cost to you or your department.
-
I'm the only K9 handler in my department funded by community funds without a nonprofit. You are welcome to our umbrella nonprofit program to fund your K9 unit. Your donors and corporate sponsors will receive tax donation letters. You are provided a donation link and control where the funds go. The only limitation is that no funds can go to ammunition or firearms.
-
Our K9 unit trains with other K9 units in your region. When funded, we can organize a full training and safety gear upgrade with compliant department PIOs and fly-in course instructors for your continuing education.
-
Our K9 has medical bills that are out of budget for your unit. We can run a fundraiser for your K9 and pay your veterinary bill directly each week as funds come in. You oversee the funds through email alerts of each donation.
-
Our unit really, really, really needs that...thing! Whatever your thing is, we can assist if it's not ammunition or firearms.
